He loves it! He has learned so much from being there and is blossoming. On days he doesn't go we homeschool to review things like letters, numbers, shapes and colors with him through play and books, etc.. We felt it was important because for now he's an only child and we felt that for socialization opportunities it was important to have him in something like this. People that say that preschool will teach them bad habits are being ridiculous. Kids could learn bad habits from anywhere, even regular school when they are older. Preschool is not the created place of bad habits. That's like saying if a kid is in your car and you happen to drive by a liquour store they will grow up to be an alcoholic. Kids will behave how they are taught at home and according to how they are raised be it for the better or worse. Preschool doesn't have anything to do with it. Preschool programs are great for socialization and interaction and is a great way for them to learn to follow a routine and rules before they are ready for kindergarten. I love my son's preschool that he goes to. He's learning so much and is all ready starting to sing some of the songs he's learning, has some good playmates there already and loves his teachers. Especially the social skills. It will prepare her for kindergarten as well. And if she is an only child that's another reason to have her there. Any bad habits she might pick up from other kids, can be quickly done away with by you reinforcing good behavior. Since she will be spending most of her time with you, then you will have more of an influence on her than the other kids. I think the potential for her to learn good things from other children, and all the other positive things about her being there will far outweigh any negatives. And since you mentioned it's a Christian environment, I'm sure the teachers will do their best to discourage inappropriate habits. Pre-school is good for all of the positive reasons you mentioned.
